About Us

Serving immigrants to thrive and be successful in our communities

Our Story

Immigrants Relief Initiatives (IRI) is a nonprofit organization working to provide support and empowerment for immigrants to thrive in the State of Georgia. Our goal is to help all immigrants succeed through uplifting programs and social empowerment initiatives that advance immigrants full potentials. Some of our activities include providing employment readiness programs, facilitating youth and adult education services, promoting art and cultural initiatives, food relief, housing assistance, and more.

Our work started in 2017 from informal convening sessions and relying on each other for self-support as immigrants overwhelmed and challenged with navigating the different facets of American societies. However, through years of resilience, persistence, and determination to succeed, our stories in many dimensions have become stories of immigrants succeeding in America and we now desire to lend our helping hands to others who may feel the heavy burden and challenges of living in a new environment. Born out of hearts full of gratitude we recognize we could not have achieved success without a community of immigrants and citizens alike who care and came together to support each other. From firsthand experience we know how difficult it can be to come to a new community and experience complex systems without knowing where to get help. It doesn’t have to be this way, there is hope.

What began informally from ordinary convening conversations to help immigrants obtain basic necessities in their new environment, such as securing affordable housing, food, transportation, driver’s license, find jobs, and sign up for health insurance. These activities has now metamorphosed into an incorporated nonprofit, rooted in deep compassion and commitment to help other immigrants who may face integration challenges in our society, just as we experienced many years ago. Through IRI outreach and transformative initiatives, we guide and support immigrants who may need help to properly integrate into Georgia communities.

We are the catalysts for societal integration and pillar of support to those who may be less fortunate in our society. We encourage you to join hands with us on this amazing journey of empowering and supporting immigrants in the State of Georgia.
