About Us

Empowering immigrant children And Families thrive and Live Fullfilling Lives

Our Story

Immigrants Relief Initiatives Corporation received its 501(c)(3) nonprofit designation in 2025, but our story began long before that. In 2017, a group of immigrants started gathering at the grassroots level to support one another as they navigated the complex challenges of starting over in a new country. Language barriers, the need for affordable housing, enrolling children in school, finding employment, understanding financial and healthcare systems, and accessing essential community services all posed daily hardships that could not be ignored.

What began as simple conversations about addressing these hardships soon grew into a community-driven effort grounded in compassion and a shared commitment to uplift immigrants and underserved populations. The spirit of mutual support, resilience, and collective progress that defined those early gatherings laid the foundation for what would ultimately become IRIC today.

Our personal experiences as immigrants remain powerful testimonies of resilience, hope, and possibility. In addition, we recognize that the many challenges we once faced—including limited access to essential services, language barriers, job insecurity, discrimination, and cultural adjustment continue to affect countless immigrants today. To ensure no immigrant faces these obstacles alone, IRIC is dedicated to supporting both newly arrived and long-settled immigrants as they overcome barriers, build confidence, and achieve a true sense of belonging while building successful lives in Georgia.

IRIC’s work is made possible through the dedication of our board members, executive director, staff, and volunteers, whose collective efforts drive our mission forward.

We welcome everyone to join us. Whether through donating, volunteering, or simply supporting an immigrant in need, your involvement can change lives and strengthen our communities. Together, we can build a more welcoming, equitable, and prosperous Georgia for all.
